Dead Heat (Tie Rule)
In the case where two (2) or more outcomes within a defined group have the same winning score, the dead heat rule will apply. Each of the winning outcomes’ odds is divided by the number of tie outcomes to determine the value of the winning odds. If the amount that is determined to be the payout for the event after the division is less than 1.00, the amount will be re-set to be 1.00.
For Example:
- Two outcomes are scored with the same final scores.
- Outcome 1 was purchased with the odds of 3.60 and outcome 2 was purchased with the odds of 5.00.
Using the rule above: the winning odds would be calculated as follows:
- Outcome 1 original odds divided by the number of winning outcomes in the group is 3.60/2 = 1.80
- Outcome 2 original odds divided by the number of winning outcomes in the group is 5.00/2 = 2.50
